About the data

What a floor is

For each subreddit we sampled recent posters whose posts were still up and read each account's post karma, comment karma, total karma and age. The observed floor on each measure is the lowest value among those posters. It is the weakest account we saw get through, so the real moderator gate sits at or below it.

The four minimums can come from four different accounts, so an account that matches all four floors at once is weaker than any single poster we saw. A floor at or below zero means at least one account with zero or negative karma got through, not that the subreddit is open to anyone.

How much data is behind it

Subreddits in the catalog15,497
With observed karma floors13,863
With karma and account-age floors13,784
High confidence: 25 or more posters sampled3,240
Medium confidence: 10 to 24 posters6,051
Low confidence: 1 to 9 posters4,572
Not floored yet1,634

The current floors were observed between 2 Jun 2026 and 16 Jun 2026. Every subreddit page shows its own date and sample size. Small samples make floors less reliable: a floor from 3 posters can sit far above the real gate.

What we do not measure

Flags

Verification and promotion flags come from keywords in each subreddit's rule headings; we never copy the rule text. "Rules not collected yet" means we have no rule headings for that subreddit, so a missing flag there tells you nothing. "Established accounts only" marks subreddits whose observed total-karma floor is above 10,000.

Refresh

We plan to re-measure floors with larger samples. When a refresh lands, each subreddit's date, sample size and confidence label change with it, and pass holders see the new figures straight away.

These figures are estimates derived from sampled Reddit accounts, not confirmed moderator requirements. Requirements may change, and meeting these estimates does not guarantee posting access. Verification, content rules, and other account checks may also apply.
